Called Away ~ Our dear one was called away, and had gone with the Lord to stay.
Although this passing makes us weep, we rejoice our loved one rests safe in God's keep.

Vance Stanley Barry passed away on November 13th, at his home in Maple Ridge after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving children who cared for him during his last days.
After many happy years of marriage, Vance was predeceased by his wife Royce in 1990 the Mother of their four children Janet (Barry) Collick, Jill (Norm) Powzun, Greg (Janice) Barry and Glen (Charisse) Barry.
Later, finding love again, he married Marlene Barry who also passed away in 2009 after a lengthy illness. With Marlene, he became a loving father to her children. They are Debbie MacDonald, Doug Werlin (deceased) and Sherry (Bruce) Couglan. Vance left behind 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who adored their Grampy.
In the last couple of years, a long-time friendship with Heather McMitchell grew into wonderful love. They were hoping to have more time to enjoy each other's company and had plans and dreams for the years to come. It was wonderful to see the spark in his eyes when Heather was around.
Vance was born and raised in St. George New Brunswick. Although he lived in several provinces throughout his 84 years, he remained a maritimer at heart. He leaves behind nieces and nephews in New Brunswick and Ontario.
Vance was a friend to many and a good neighbor. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, only a small graveside service was held at Maple Ridge Cemetery on the 21st of November.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society.
