Jun 25, 1925 - Nov 18, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty, a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  Betty was born in Altona Manitoba and was the youngest of 5 girls to Lydia and Louis Yoerger. Betty's first job was with Kodak in Winnipeg as a hand colorer transforming black and white photos to color, and later worked for the DW Friesen Printing company.

Betty married Arthur Hientz and together they raised 4 children, moving to BC in 1966.  Here she worked as head cook at the Parkridge Private Hospital and later as Manager of the Orange Oasis.

Betty's love for people and helping others lead her to become a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 49 years and was president  from 1983-84. She also volunteered with the Red Cross & Canadian Blood Services combined for 40 years, and was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Women ministry within her church.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Hientz.

Survived by her loving family; Jim Heintz (Beverly) Angie, Julie.  Stan Hientz (Kathy) Jennifer, Steven (Justyna).  Carol Novakowski (Rick) Dan, Sarah.  Wanda McGreevy (Francis) Matt, Emily, Ryan, and her great grandchildren; Taylor, Estevan, Kashdyn, and Max.

Memorial service to be held Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 12145 Laity Street, Maple Ridge, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Pauls Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Fraternal Order of Eagles would be appreciated.

Special thanks to Dr. Milewski and the staff at MR Senior Village for their support and loving care.
