BENEDICT, Vern Lawrence (Benny)
Vern Benedict of Maple Ridge BC passed away on June 11, 2014, in his 76th year.
The Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 2:00pm at 20838 117th Ave Maple Ridge, BC. Vern was married to Charmaine Benedict on November 11, 1977; they were married 37 years. Vern worked as a heavy duty Machine Operator for the Pacific National Exhibition company for 21 years until he retired. He enjoyed walking his dogs at Burnaby mountain and then later at Rocky Point in Port Moody. He also enjoyed walks along the dikes in Pitt Meadows. Vern is survived by wife Charmaine; daughters Cathy Strachan, Teri Benedict; grandchildren Kristine Visser, Natalie Strachan, Aaron Benedict; great grandson Grayson Visser; brothers Roy & Jimmy Benedict and sisters Sharon Woods (Leonard); Donna; Butula; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cousins Bill and Russell Smith and other family and friends.
Vern is preceded in death by his mother Annie Benedict and father Bud Benedict, beloved Aunt Jean Smith & Uncle Hector Smith, beloved grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Benedict; dogs Mort, Mindy & Simba.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the RMH or RCH Hospital as well as the SPCA foundations. The family of Vern, wishes to thank Ridge Meadows Hospital nurses and staff for the wonderful care they gave to Vern in his last days.
