June 1, 1928 ~ March 9, 2006
Bill leaves to mourn his wife Donna, son Kenneth, brother Albert (Pauline).
Bill, a 50 year member of Local 97 Ironworkers survived the Second Narrows Ironworkers Memorial Bridge collapse in 1958. He went on to work on all the major bridges in B.C., the Alex Fraser, the last one before he retired in 1988. He worked all over the world as an Ironworker from the Arctic to the Middle East. With retirement he became an accomplished wood carver, his specialty walking sticks and shoe horns, also relief wood carving scenes of logging in B.C.
In his early years Bill worked as a high rigger on Vancouver Island and in the Squamish area where he acquired the nick name “Panicky Bill”. His antique tool collection and wood work shop was a true collector’s paradise.
He loved his family and his home – the most important things in his life.
We love you Bill,
you are in our hearts forever.
Gone to a higher place of service.
