WILLIAM THOMAS HAMPTON
Dec. 17, 1932–Nov. 04, 2008
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loving husband, father and grandfather. Bill passed away with his family by his side on Nov. 04, 2008. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Lil Hampton; his sons: Dennis, Rod, Mark (Cori), sister Jean, brother Ray (Doreen), mother-in-law Annie Prosser, and grandchildren Kiah and Makenna. Bill was predeceased by his son Barry, parents Oliver and Alice Hampton and father-in-law Charlie Prosser.
Bill was born and raised in Maple Ridge, B.C. where he met and married his wife Lil and raised his family while running his heritage dairy farm. Bill could be seen daily doing what he loved, driving his horses around his land and tending his animals. Bill was a beloved husband, brother, father, friend and grandfather. He loved his wife Lil of 50 years, country music, watching rodeos, pro-wrestling and spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and the community of Maple Ridge will miss seeing him in his blue and white engineer hat with his horses in the field on their daily commute.
Many thanks to all the Doctors and medical staff at Surrey and Maple Ridge Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bill’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 10th at 2 pm in the MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn’s), 11969-216th Street.
