All of our wallets empty, land is all blacktop

The people of Pitt Meadows have voiced their displeasure over projected property tax increases and what is the result?

Re: No break for Golden Ears Bridge (The News, Sept. 19).

The people of Pitt Meadows have voiced their displeasure over projected property tax increases and what is the result?

The mayor and council have chosen to simply put the petition on ignore and continue on with their agenda.

More of Pitt Meadows’ residents are protesting the removal of land north of the Lougheed Highway from the ALR by raising a petition and attending a council meeting.

Result: the mayor and council will put this protest on ignore and continue doing as they please.

Who cast the deciding vote in favour of developing the entire site?

None other than Mayor Deb Walters.

It’s bad enough that the new bridges are tolled at all, but now mayor Walters wants all Lower Mainland bridges to be tolled.

It appears that our mayor won’t be happy until our wallets are empty and the land covered in blacktop.
