Councillor has his own ‘cheap politics?’

What about when colleague Michael Sather refused raise?

Editor, The News:

Coun. Craig Speirs’ outrage over the lack of unity on council’s pay raise vote is questionable. (The News, Aug. 5).

I wonder if, as president of the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows NDP constituency association, he expressed the same level of outrage towards MLA Michael Sather when Sather went against the pay raise vote for provincial politicians?

Obviously, Craig Speirs’s belief in what constitutes cheap politics does not extend beyond his political allies when they participate in a similar decision.

Hypocrisy is the greatest form of luxury.
