Don’t want world filled with garbage

Writer would like to see better recycling practices in Maple Ridge.

Editor, The News:

After all the discussion about municipal garbage pickup, why not take a cue from our next door neighbours in Mission who offer municipal recycling (as we do), garbage and compost pickup?

We could take it one step further and look to municipalities in Ontario and only allow clear bag garbage pickup so that what we are throwing away can be seen, putting more responsibility on residents to only throw out that which cannot be recycled or composted. We need to remember that our kids will be living on this earth far longer than we, don’t they deserve better than a world filled with the garbage we can’t be bothered to deal with in a sustainable way?
