Re: Housing solutions eyed (The News, June 12).

I wanted to comment on Neil Corbett’s excellent article on housing solutions for our homeless populations.

I really like the idea of the portables or micro houses and feel that they would be a solution for many of the poorer people in our communities who need less expensive housing.

Renting has become very expensive in the Greater Vancouver area and it is simply too much for some residents. This alternative could be a welcome relief for those people who are poorer and need cheap rent.

It would certainly be better then just moving the homeless around from one area to another, like they did last week, with some of them ending up in my back yard (the former ghetto,) which did not last very long.

They were moved out within three hours and were off to the next field.

I thank our mayor and councillors for making the effort on finding lasting solutions to this Canadian epidemic of homelessness. I wish her success in her endeavors to resolve this issue. We have to work together to solve this homelessness problem and the senor levels of government must do their part to assist our city.
