No waving magic tax wand

I would like to address Tom Murray and ask: What would you do if you could see into a crystal ball?

I would like to address Tom Murray and ask: What would you do if you could see into a crystal ball?

Would you flick your wand and say no to all the services that we have as a community?

Would you be able to see to 2013 and look at  policing needs, the fire department, water supply, recreation, diking, street lighting, snow removal, recycling, garbage removal, green waste removal and other services too numerous to mention?

Dear, sir, if you and others think that zero per cent is reasonable, you are living in the wrong country.

Now for an increase that most residents don’t seem to mind is the value of their property . I doubt many complain when they receive their tax bill and the  value of their home has increased.

Increases in property value are as good as money in the bank.

Extra taxes, the security that no one has flicked their magic wand and put our community back years has not happened.

A petition sometimes is only a piece of paper, and in this case maybe a bit misleading.

Let the staff and council do their work.
