Editor, The News:
I went home at lunch the other day to find the green belt behind the Gabriola Townhouses on 237th Street and Dewdney Trunk Road being cleared.
I was so sad to see all of those trees being ripped down. I have enjoyed such an abundance of birds and wildlife while living there that it occurred to me that would be no more.
Seeing first-hand the destruction of habitat for stellar jays, crows, flickers and numerous other species of birds was really upsetting.
I guess that is the price of progress in this town. I dread seeing the desolation that will be left.
