Lisa Farquharson
Lisa Farquharson began her career with Black Press Media in 1998 as an advertising sales associate in Langley. Since then, she has held several positions with Black Press national sales, as well as publisher for other various Black Press publications. She is currently publisher of the Langley Advance Times, Aldergrove Star, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News, and Today’s Home.

Roxanne Hooper
Roxanne Hooper has been in the news industry since age 15, starting her career in Langley – at the then Langley Advance. She has since worked for news outlets in Abbotsford, Mission, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows, and Kamloops. Through all her years in the media industry, as a reporter and now an editor, she has always held a strong passion for sharing stories about the people in each of those towns.
She looks forward to hearing from you about your local story ideas.

Shaulene Burkett
Shaulene Burkett started in the media industry in 1997. She has spent her career working with various publications throughout the Lower Mainland, both as an advertising consultant and manager. Her current responsibilities include advertising manager for her hometown paper, the Langley Advance Times, as well as the Aldergrove Star, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News, and the Today’s Home – Abbotsford, Mission, Surrey, and Langley – and all national real estate.

Neil Corbett
Neil Corbett has been a journalist for more than 30 years, the past decade with the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News. He moved to the city in 2012. Corbett has worked at community newspapers in Abbotsford, Mission, Hope, and Williams Lake, as well as in Ontario – serving as an editor and reporter. Along the way, he has won various national journalism awards, and been part of successful news teams. In Maple Ridge, Corbett is a general news reporter, and has covered a variety of beats including education, sports, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge city councils, and political issues at the federal and provincial levels with local impacts.

Colleen Flanagan
Colleen Flanagan is an award-winning multimedia journalist with more than 15 years experience in the industry. Flanagan got her start with Black Press in 2003 as a photojournalist. She freelanced at many Black Press publications across the Lower Mainland before being hired full time at the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News more than a decade ago. Through the years Flanagan has won international, national, and provincial awards for her photography. She is honoured to be able to tell the stories that impact the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

Group Circulation Manager
Brian Yip
Brian has been the circulation manager with Black Press Media for a decade, and in the media distribution business for the 40 year. He brings extensive experience to circulation department, overseeing the delivery operation across Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Langley, and Aldergrove including early morning starts to ensure delivery drivers get the newspapers out to hundreds of youth and adult carriers, every week ­– regardless of weather.

Priyanka Ketkar
Priyanka Ketkar has been a journalist since 2011 with extensive experience in community-driven news writing, feature writing, and editing. She joined Black Press in 2020 as a reporter/editor for two publications in Northern B.C. She holds a masters in journalism and English literature, and has experience working in India, U.S.A., and now Canada. Priyanka believes in giving a voice to the voiceless through her writing and is always on the lookout for stories hidden in people’s hearts and places.
