Burrards minor league teams clean up

Teams from the Ridge Meadows Burrards Minor Lacrosse Association were in action last weekend, netting a handful of wins.

The boys’ midget A1 team topped Delta 6-5 on Monday to hold on to top spot in the Lower Mainland A1 league.

The Midget Burrards are 7-0-1 this season, and have yet to lose in regulation.

In midget girls’ action, the Burrards beat the Delta girls’ squad 4-3 on Saturday before falling 3-1 to New Westminster on Sunday.

The midget girls are 4-2-0 so far this season in league play, good for third place.

In peewee action, the Burrards peewee A1 team blanked Delta 7-0 on the road last Thursday before tying New West 7-7 Sunday morning, retaining their first-place standing in the Lower Mainland A1 league.

The peewee A2 Burrards edged Abbotsford 6-5 on Thursday before thumping Mission 7-1 at home, and are tied for second place in their league. Mason Morais and Ethan Chung both a had a pair of goals, while Justin Cloete, Patrick Almoza, and Dylan McCormick also scored.

In mini-tyke, Jack Olson was named player of the game for the Ridge Meadows Canucks, while Davis Balla was named MVP for the Ridge Meadows Transformers. Fynn Turner was named the Ridge Meadows Sharks’ weekly MVP.
