A battle for second spot in the Haney Master’s Curling highlighted league play following games at Golden Ear’s Winter Club this week.

With the Jack Stadel rink established in first spot, the rinks of Bill Hanula, Greg Hook and Terry Lajeunesse all moved into the runner-up position – four points behind Stadel.

Hanula, along with Chris Martin (third), Hugh McIntyre  (second) and Grant Green (lead), came up with a positive performance in giving Stadel his first loss of the Winter Session on Monday.

However, Stadel bounced back Wednesday with a 9-5 win over the rink of Ed Brown (skip), Eric Holler (third), Bruce Baxter (second) and Bob Fairley (lead).
