Final round 67 gives Kwon CJGA win

Pitt Meadows golfer Kevin Kwon left the competition in his dust last weekend as he cruised to a three-stroke victory at the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s tour event at Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey last weekend.

Kwon finished the first day with a round of 74 on Saturday, putting him four strokes behind leader Kevin Ko of Coquitlam. However, Kwon saved his best stuff for the second and final day of play, as he shot a five-under 67 to vault ahead of five other golfers for the win.

Kwon managed to hit six birdies on Sunday, and conceded just a single bogey. Kwon finished with a three-under 141.

Maple Ridge’s Tae In Lee was one stroke off the lead after an opening round of 72, but managed just a 76 on the second day of play to finish in fourth place.

Muni He of Pitt Meadows finished third in the girls’ competition.
