Hanula takes lead in seniors curling

Hanula takes sole possession of first-place in this week’s Haney Masters’ Curling action.

Veteran curler Bill Hanula skipped his rink to a one-sided 12-0 victory over Bob Mackay, to take sole possession of first-place in this week’s Haney Masters’ Curling action.

Hanula’s rink increased their record to 8-1 as they drubbed Mackay’s group of Darrell Winterlik (third), Paul Darbyshire (second) and Les Hall (lead).

They maintain a lead over Jim Maitland’s rink (7-2).

Maitland kept pace with Hanula by defeating Earl King’s rink consisting of third Tom Little, second John Jacobs and lead Dick Lyster.

Meanwhile Roger Fast’s rink of Al Golsack, William Menkveld, and Jerry Batryn battled back from a 7-0 deficit to salvage a tie with Eric Holler’s rink to move into a second-place tie with Maitland.
