Maple Ridge Skating Club hosts year-end ice show

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice will benefit from donations

On Saturday, the Maple Ridge Skating Club will host a spring ice show to benefit Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

The figure skating event, called Music Through the Eras, marks the end of the club’s winter skating season, and will be held at Planet Ice Maple Ridge. The doors open at 11:20 a.m., and the show starts at 11:45 a.m.

Admission is by a cash donations toward Canuck Place, in memory of former club skater Kieran McGhie who passed away in 2014 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Music Through the Eras will showcasing solo, duos and group numbers with music from the 1950s to the 1990s. It will also be showing special performances from the club’s synchro teams, as well as guest a synchro team from the Lower Mainland Synchronized Skating Club junior team, which is based in Surrey.
