Both the junior varsity and senior AA Pitt Meadow Marauders made the playoffs this year.

Both teams were swept aside in the opening round of B.C. High School Football playoffs.

The Windsor Dukes shutout the visiting Marauders 27-0 in junior varsity action on Nov. 12, sending the 3-5 Pitt Meadows squad packing for the year.

In senior AA action, the Abbotsford Panthers mauled the Marauders 58-8 on Nov. 13.

Pitt head coach Matt Todd said he was proud of how hard both his teams fought to get to the playoffs. He said he’s hoping the continued success of the program will lure more kids to play next year. A number of the junior varsity players also played on the senior team as numbers were sparse for both clubs.

“We had a great group of Grade 12 players who will take what they learned in football out into the real world after they graduate,” said Todd.
