The Meadow Ridge peewee Gold Knights recorded their eighth shutout win of the season last weekend with a 12-0 victory over the Chilliwack Red Giants.

With the win, the Gold Knights finish Valley Community Football League regular season with a record of 8-2, good for second overall.

Cade Cote stood out on offense Saturday as he ran in both Knights touchdowns.

On defence, the solid play of Detroit Hambly and Jay Sachar helped keep the Red Giants off the scoreboard.

The Gold Knights face their club rivals, the Meadow Ridge Blue Knights, in the first round of the VCFL peewee playoffs this Monday, Nov. 12.

The Blue Knights, meanwhile, ended their regular season campaign with a comeback 18-13 win over Mission 9ers last weekend.

After giving up a 13-point lead early in the game, the Blue Knights defence led by linemen Chris King, Avery Fitchett, Alex Trsostheim and Tristen Parkin stopped the 9ers from putting anymore points on the board.

The Blue Knights started their come back with Brayden Hamilton scoring a pair of touchdowns, while Tyler Spencer caught a touchdown pass from Mahlon Taylor for the other major on the day.

The win gives the Blue Knights a 7-3 record this season to finish in third place in the VCFL peewee division.

The midget Knights also finished their regular season with a win, defeating Vancouver 22-14 to finish second in the B.C. midget league with an 8-2 record. The win was the sixth in a row for the surging midget Knights.

The junior bantams played their final game against the Chilliwack Blue Giants,  losing 15-14. The junior bantam Knights finish the season 3-7, and out of the playoffs.
