Grade 10 student Shaimen Bhogal of Maple Ridge Secondary School finished in sixth place at the Canadian Cadet Wrestling Championships, held April 7 to 10 in Windsor.
Bhogal is a member of the Maple Ridge Ramblers wrestling squad and went 3-3 at the tournament, losing to wrestlers from Ontario and B.C. in the competitive 57-kg weight class.
“I thought it was a good experience travelling with B.C. team to Ontario,” said Bhogal. “Now I know how hard I’m going to have to work to win next year.”
