Ramblers wrestlers medal at Wildcat Invitational

The Maple Ridge secondary wrestling team had some mixed results last Thursday at the Burnaby Central Wildcat Invitational.

The Maple Ridge secondary wrestling team had some mixed results last Thursday at the Burnaby Central Wildcat Invitational.

Miki Rowbottom continued her winning ways,  handily taking gold.

Marquesis Haintz had to settle for silver, as did Ryan Hicks.

Jacob McClure battled for a bronze, along with teammate Braiden Davis, who had the tournament of his young wrestling career, according to coach Bil McCrae.

Four Ridge wrestlers placed fourth, including Adrian Truong, Lucas Kolobara, Ivy Threatful and Nate Van Alestyn.

The latter was also voted most sportsmanlike by the coaches attending the tournament.

Next up is the B.C. Age Class Wrestling Championships held in Kamloops on Friday and Saturday.
