Jack Stadel, one of Haney Master’s most veteran curlers, ran his record to 8-0 with an 8-6 victory over Peter Koehler’s rink in master’s curling action at Golden Ears Winter Club on Wednesday.

Stadel, a successful curler in Maple Ridge since 1956, defeated the Koehler rink of Mike Murgatroyd, Don Plummer and Svend Neilson to remain undefeated and continues to hold a four- point lead over the Greg Hook and Terry Lajeunesse rinks in league play.

Along with Bill McDowell (third), Kent Skene (second), and Al Herd (lead), Stadel’s rink controlled the game as they remain in first place at the half-way point of the Haney Master’s Winter Session.

Hook’s rink of Bob Asher, William Menkveld, and Morris Achtenichuk continued their winning ways (6-1) with a victory over Peter England’s rink consisting of Dave Christensen (third), George Lagerstrom (second) and Tom Manion (lead).
