Downtown Maple Ridge BIA announces Win Your Wish Winners

Eight prize packages worth $2,000 each handed out

Thousands of entries were submitted for the 11th annual Downtown Maple Ridge BIA Win Your Wish contest, and winners have been drawn.

This year there were 7,370 receipts entered in the contest, including 179 online entries.

The contest ran from Nov. 24 to midnight on Dec. 31, where shoppers in the downtown core of Maple Ridge were invited to submit a receipt of items purchased, excluding liquor and lottery tickets, to win one of eight prize packages, or one of 10 second chance draws of $100 in DMRBIA gift certificates.

All together there were $17,000 in prizes to be won.

The first name drawn had a choice of all eight prize packages and Sheena Sharp chose the Haney Appliance and Sound prize package worth $2,000 – $1,500 to purchase electronics, appliances, and more at the store and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Second place went to Dawn Bouchard chose the ValleyFair Mall package worth $2,000 – $1,500 to spend at select stores in the mall and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Third drawn was a receipt submitted by Glen Cowley and they chose a $2,000 prize package for Haney Place Mall – $1,500 to spend at select stores in Haney Place Mall and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Rebekah Guite took fourth place and chose the Start Automotive package – $1,500 towards auto service and products and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Donna Mawhinny, drawn fifth, chose a $2,000 dream travel package from the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Expedia Cruises.

Chery Campbell was sixth and chose the Haney Builders prize package – $1,500 to purchase regular priced items at the store and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Seventh name drawn was Sonia Sigamony, who chose the package from Maple Ridge Florist – $1,500 towards store merchandise or wedding florals and $500 in cash donated by the DMRBIA.

Finally Valerie Radford took the $2,000 Ryan Jewellers package.

Winners of the second chance draws were: Trudy Beatty, Monique Wilson, Mikael Catt, Ken Stubley, Delores Rocher, Cathy Coghlan, Laura Pierce, Angie Maci, Louise Vincent, and one winner who elected to remain anonymous.
