Runners young and old, slow and fast, and those who simply want to walk will be raising money for a good cause this weekend.

The 20th anniversary of the annual Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Fund Run will be taking place at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 4, at Fairview Elementary, 12209 206th St., in Maple Ridge.

At past events more than 300 people have taken part, raising thousands for much needed equipment and projects in support of health care at the local hospital.

“We are proud to announce that over the past 19 years a total of over $560,000 has been raised by this event, helping to fund quality health care equipment, high priority needs, and special projects at Ridge Meadows Hospital and in our community,” said the foundation online.

There will be a five kilometre run or walk, a 10 kilometre run, and a Kid’s Fun Run.
