The Thomas Haney Craft Fair is returning this year, for the first time since it was shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be room for more than 100 vendors, and a vendor sign-up is available by email at thscraftfair@gmail.com.

The event will no longer be a staff-run event, but is now a student-run craft fair, believed to be the only one in the province, and it’s working out of the only self-directed school in the province.

The lead event coordinator Reece Reichelt assembled the building blocks for the craft fair, later being joined by deputy and assistant event coordinators Seaera Smith and Mya Van Der Mey, and they aim to really bring the event to life.

The organizers say they have an extensive student team helping run the craft fair, supported by their student council.

The organizers say this year’s craft fair will feature a plethora of products such as soaps, candles, home goods, clothing, jewelry, decorations, food products, woodworking products, and much much more.

The fair will also feature a variety of other amenities for visitors, including a cafe, child care by donation, and Big Red’s Poutine food truck.

In the students’ endeavour to be more sustainable, they will have on sale Thomas Haney Craft Fair branded reusable bags, as well as reusable tote bags designed by local indigenous artists.

They invite the public to come join in helping better our community by supporting a local school, noting all money raised by admission prices goes back into supporting events and projects at Thomas Haney.

The cost will be $5 per person, with children six and under free.
