The Garibaldi Art Club presents its annual Fall Art Show next week in Maple Ridge.

Over 200 original paintings, showcasing the talents of 50 artists, will be on display.

The pieces comprise all new works in a wide range of subjects and mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, oil and pastels. The public will be invited to vote on the picture they like the most. In addition, two members will be showing pottery and ceramics.

Have a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy while you contemplate the wide range of art in the show.

Club member Janell Wallace said the club, that’s been around for over than 50 years, is welcoming new members.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Craft Room in the ACT.

The club holds two shows a year and there are several other venues in which club members can exhibit their art.

“Some Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings the craft room is available for painting sessions. This is a friendly social time for everyone,” says Wallace.

The club also engages guest artists to give classes. “We encourage input from members as to the type of classes they would like,” she adds.

The Garibaldi Art Club was started by a group of artists who got together in their homes to paint.

The club played a significant role in raising money for The ACT.

The Garibaldi Art Club fall show takes at the Fraserview Village Hall, 22610 116th Avenue from Nov. 15 to Nov. 17. Doors open Friday Nov. 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The show continues Nov. 16 and Nov.. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
