Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows golfers will soon be hitting the fairways for a good cause as the Maple Ridge Firefighters Charity prepares to host its annual golf tournament.

This fourth annual charity golf tournament will help raise money for a variety of local and national charities, with past tournaments distributing money to the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society, Friends in Need Food Bank, Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.

In addition to including plenty of golfing, the tournament will also have other games, entertainment, and food tastings to enjoy.

Various prizes will be given out at the end of the event for hole-in-one, longest drive, closest to the pin, and net low score.

Registration for the tournament starts at noon, with a tailgate lunch happening until the shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The golfing and other festivities will continue until 6:30 p.m., with foursome bookings available for $700.

The Maple Ridge Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, June 14, at the Golden Eagle Golf Club.
