A decade of holiday wishes is being celebrated by the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows youth-led collective uPlan with the recent launch of its 10th annual Holiday Wish campaign.

This year, uPlan has partnered with The Huber Team, Brandee McWhinney Mortgage Solutions, Client First Mortgages, and 3D Immersive, in order to help those in need this holiday season.

The Holiday Wish campaign allows people to nominate someone in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows who deserves to have their holiday wish fulfilled.

Thomas Haney Secondary student and uPlan member Nixin Wilcott explained that this annual campaign is an amazing way to help share joy during the holiday season.

“Making people in our communities’ wishes come true and seeing the smiles on their faces is a joy we all need during the holiday season,” said Wilcott.

Mike Huber from The Huber Team said that his family is incredibly blessed to be able to give back to their community like this.

“We stress to our children that giving is not just a choice; it’s a commitment to weaving the threads of kindness that strengthen the fabric of our shared community and humanity,” said Huber.

In order to nominate someone to have their holiday wish fulfilled, email uplanrm@gmail.com with the subject line “holiday wish” and include the name of the nominee, the reasons why they deserve to be chosen, and details of their desired wish.

Nominations will be accepted until Sunday, Dec. 10, with the winner being announced on Dec. 17.

SFU student and uPlan member Kai Skerratt explained that everyone should look at nominating someone special in their life, whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or neighbour.

“Participating in the Holiday Wish program is a wonderful way to spread the seasonal joy and recognize some special people in our community,” said Skerratt.
