Edge 3, as it was known, was a condo development that completely burned in Friday night’s huge blaze in downtown Maple Ridge.
It was unoccupied, as it was under construction.
However, the fire did spread to the second phase of the multi-building Edge condo community being constructed in the vicinity.

Edge on Edge 2, as it is known, is a 73-unit condo complex across the street that was finished in 2015. All its occupants were evacuated from that building. It’s still unclear the full extent of the damage to that structure.

In the meantime, MacLean Homes, the builders of the four-building development issued a brief statement on social media Saturday.
“We have very unfortunate news to share: There was a fire at the Edge 3 construction site and the building was heavily damaged… It has caused damage to the surrounding buildings and many people have been displaced due to the fire. As far as we know no one was hurt and our hearts go out to the community who have been affected by the fire. We will update as we find out more information!”
MacLean is a West Vancouver-based “Built Green” gold-certified builder.
MacLean Homes was started by Graham MacLean almost four decades ago. He has built more than 4,000 units in the Vancouver area through the years, and remains the company’s CEO. His son, Josh, is now president.
They started building the multi-building Edge condo development in downtown Maple Ridge more than a decade ago, and started work on the third building in 2022. It was described as nearing completion.
The third building is located at 22575 Brown Ave., at the corner of Brown Avenue and Edge Street, and was intended to add 48 more units in Haney.
It was a five-storey building that featured one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
