Maple Ridge Chorus put on the concert, The Show Must Go On, in early May 2023. (Special to The News)

Dear Editor,

[Re: Show must go on, The News, May 5]

On behalf of the Maple Ridge Chorus, I want to thank journalist Colleen Flanagan and The News for your timely and generous online and print coverage of our May 7 public spring concert.

To say ticket sales for The Show Must Go On last Sunday exceeded expectations would be an understatement. The start time was slightly delayed because we needed to add an extra row of seats at the back of the venue.

Typically, our spring concerts attract a smaller audience than our Christmas performances, but not this year. The phenomenal attendance last weekend was due in no small part to The News’ ongoing support of our inclusive community choir.

We also thank the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council for their 2022 Arts Partner Grant, which made our latest Christmas and spring public concerts possible.

The Maple Ridge Chorus begins its 2023 fall season on Sept. 5. We will accept new members until Sep. 19. No audition is required to join. We especially welcome singers with deep voices. For more information, go to lovetosing.net.
